Tennessee Family Medicine Residency Collaborative
The Tennessee Family Medicine Residency Collaborative is committed to fostering excellence in family medicine residency training across the state. By facilitating collaboration, sharing best practices, and supporting innovation, the Collaborative aims to elevate the quality of family medicine education and improve healthcare outcomes for communities throughout Tennessee.
Goals:
1. Enhance Program Quality: Share resources, strategies, and innovations to improve the quality of family medicine residency programs.
2. Foster Collaboration: Facilitate networking opportunities, joint projects, and partnerships among Tennessee-based family medicine residency programs.
3. Support Continuous Improvement: Provide mentorship, peer support, and feedback mechanisms to help programs continuously enhance their educational offerings.
4. Address Challenges: Identify common challenges faced by family medicine residency programs in Tennessee and work collaboratively to develop solutions.
5. Promote Diversity and Inclusion: Foster an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and promotes equity in family medicine education and practice.
6. Advocate for Resources: Advocate for funding, policy support, and other resources to strengthen family medicine residency programs statewide.
Membership:
The TFMRC represents all 12 family medicine residency programs in Tennessee. Each member program actively participates in the direction and activity of the collaborative and contributes to achieving shared goals.
Governance:
A Steering Committee composed of family physicians from member programs oversees the Collaborative’s activities, sets priorities, and ensures alignment with the mission and goals.
