TNAFP Foundation

The TNAFP Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting, promoting and growing family medicine in Tennessee.
The Foundation works in concert with TNAFP to engage medical students, family medicine residents and other stakeholders to raise awareness of the specialty, generate interest in family medicine as a career choice, and create a vibrant, sustainable family medicine network in Tennessee and nationally.
Funding supports programs including but not necessarily limited to:

• Providing scholarships for Tennessee medical students and family medicine residents to engage in the family medicine community by attending state and national conferences;                                                                  
• Offering unique leadership development opportunities for Tennessee medical students and family medicine residents, including TNAFP committees and Board of Directors and nationally through the American Academy of Family Physicians and the AAFP Foundation;                                      
• Facilitating annual scientific research competitions for Tennessee medical students and family medicine residents;                                                                      
• Funding approved medical school activities organized by student-led Family Medicine Interest Groups;                                                                                     
• Supporting regular outreach to Tennessee medical schools, Family Medicine Interest Groups, and family medicine residency programs;                
• Creating opportunities for Tennessee medical students and family medicine residents to get involved in state and federal advocacy through TNAFP and AAFP;                                                                                                                    
• Offering Tennessee family physicians up to $200,000 toward student loan repayment through the Family Medicine Student Loan Repayment Incentive; and                                                                                                                                
• Elevating the quality of family medicine education in the state through the Tennessee Family Medicine Residency Collaborative.
