CME Tracking and Reporting
Per AAFP bylaws, active physician members are required to report 150 credits of approved Continuing Medical Education every three calendar years as a condition of continued membership. Once members have met the CME requirement, they are “re-elected” to AAFP membership. If the CME requirements are not met during the 3-year cycle then membership is cancelled.
The total number of credit hours must include a minimum of 75 Prescribed credits, be recorded in the year in which they were completed and be reported by December 31 of the year the member’s re-election cycle ends. There is no extension.
Track Your CME Status
Check your number of reported hours and see where you stand with re-election by logging in to your AAFP member account.
