The TNAFP annual conference is the premier event for Tennessee’s family medicine community. TNAFP’s largest annual event offers a robust agenda of continuing medical education sessions, an exhibitor hall and unique networking opportunities.

The conference is open to physicians, residents, medical students and other healthcare professionals, regardless of TNAFP member status and typically draws attendees from multiple states in the Southeast and beyond.

 

TNAFP Pauses 2026 Conference as AAFP FMX Comes to Nashville

The Academy will NOT host its annual conference this fall to allow members to network with 4,000+ family physicians from across the country and earn 40+ CME credits at the AAFP FMX Conference (Oct. 20 – 24) in downtown Nashville. TNAFP members should sign up for FMX using code FMX26TNDR to receive a $50 discount. Tennessee family medicine residents should use code FMX26TNRP to register for FREE.

TNAFP Events at FMX

Although TNAFP will not have its full annual conference, the Academy will host two Tennessee-specific events to showcase our state chapter and give members a chance to connect in person. FMX registration is not required to attend the separate TNAFP events, but the Academy encourages all members to attend the full conference, if possible.

Tennessee Reception

Tuesday, Oct. 20 | 6pm – 8pm CT | Skydeck on Broadway

The Academy will host a special reception for TNAFP members, guests and Preferred Partners on FMX opening night. The event will take place on the Assembly Food Hall rooftop, located just a block from the Music City Center. TNAFP will have a designated area of the AAFP event space to allow Tennessee members and partners to mingle while getting a taste of Nashville’s nightlife. Happy-hour style drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be provided. Free registration is required to help staff plan appropriately.

Awards and Installation Dinner

Wednesday, Oct. 21 | Nashville City Club | 6 pm Reception, 7 pm Dinner

TNAFP Awards and Installation Dinner attendees will enjoy an evening of fine dining, awards, music and fellowship. Officers and Board of Directors appointees for 2027 will also be installed and celebrated. This event is open to all TNAFP members and their guests, nonmembers, TNAFP partners and AAFP members from other states. Advance purchase of tickets is required.

2025 Annual Conference Recap

The 2025 annual conference took place October 22-25 at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs. The event attracted approximately 200 attendees and 40 exhibitors, with an optional LARC training, pain management KSA, and a Chief Resident Bootcamp organized by the Tennessee Family Medicine Residency Collaborative. The TNAFP Foundation also supported six Tennessee medical students and residents to present or display their research at the conference.
